For all new clients – clinical massage, walking or grooming - I offer a home visit and health assessment, which lasts approximately 30 mins – free of charge. This gives us all the opportunity to get acquainted and to discuss you and your dogs’ requirements.

Initial session will last approximately 1 ½ hours and subsequent sessions 1 hour.

Momentum Clinical Canine Massage works in accordance to the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and Exemptions Order 2015 by never working upon an animal without gaining prior veterinary consent. Therefore, a completed and signed Vet Consent form is absolutely necessary before any treatment can be carried out. This is to protect your dog and ensure that they have no underlying conditions that clinical massage may worsen. Please refer to contraindications.

Sessions include:

1. Consultation

2. Gait and Posture Analysis

3. Full body advanced palpation and muscular health check

4. Treatment tailored to the needs of your dog

5. After care advice

Total number of sessions are dependent on findings, but typically between 1 to 3, where each dog is individually assessed and the best possible route for your dog will be discussed with you.

If more than 1 session appropriate then subsequent sessions are usually carried out with a minimum 7 – 10 days between each session.

What dogs are suitable for Clinical Canine Massage?

This treatment suitable for all dogs, whatever the breed, age and condition, i.e. – senior, young, active, companion, working, agility, show, injured, post-surgery, presenting with orthopaedic conditions, rehabilitation, injury prevention.

Please note the following conditions are contraindicated for massage and therefore if you know or suspect any of the following please let me know prior to treatment: Pregnancy, epilepsy, shock, fever, cancer (discuss with vet as I can offer palliative care), open wounds, acute injury or trauma (muscle / tendon / ligament tears or broken bones), recent surgery, vaccinations within 2 weeks, flea / tick spot on treatments within 2 weeks, diarrhoea, skin infections/diseases, acute sprain, acute arthritis, neuropathy, neuralgia, inflammatory conditions, high temperature or heat stroke.

All dogs will be assessed for potential bite response. Therefore for my safety and the mental wellbeing of your dog – I may request your dog to be muzzled.

Costs

Fees: £35 per session. Additional mileage at 42p/mile outside 10mile radius of base.
